“Every Good Thought is a Divine Prompt”
BillionPrompts is a living archive dedicated to preserving humanity’s most valuable asset — ideas — in the form of carefully crafted AI prompts. Every prompt in the library is shaped by the Theory of Beneficial Prompting: the belief that a good prompt should not only achieve its immediate purpose, but leave a lasting positive impact.
That theory rests on six principles — intentionality, ethical integrity, engagement and creativity, educational value, measurable impact, and interactivity. Look for them as tags on every prompt; they are the lens this whole archive is built through.
The archive was founded by Raman Dahal, who spent seventeen years in a refugee camp in Nepal before immigrating to the United States in 2008 — an experience that taught him resilience, curiosity, and the power of human imagination. BillionPrompts is his invitation to creators, learners, entrepreneurs, researchers, and everyday thinkers: bring a good thought, leave with a divine prompt.
The six principles
- Intentionality — every prompt begins with a clear, explicit purpose.
- Ethical integrity — honest, harmless, and worthy of trust.
- Engagement and creativity — inviting original thought, not rote answers.
- Educational value — you should learn something each time you use one.
- Measurable impact — it should be possible to tell whether it worked.
- Interactivity — the best prompts start a conversation, not a monologue.
